Family Spend — Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
Family Spend ("the app") is developed by RoManiacX, an independent developer. Questions about this policy can be sent to contact@romaniacx.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information: your name, email address and profile photo from the sign-in method you use, and a unique user ID.
- Financial entries: expenses, amounts, categories, notes, budgets, recurring payments and your preferred currency. We do not collect bank account, card or UPI details, and the app does not connect to your bank.
- Family data: family groups you create or join, invite codes, shared expenses and the activity feed visible to members of your family group.
- Feedback: feature requests and messages you send through the app.
Information collected automatically
- Advertising data: Google AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, device model and app interaction data to serve and measure ads.
- Technical data: Firebase may process device identifiers and diagnostic information needed to keep the service running.
3. How we use your information
- To provide the app's features: tracking expenses, budgets and recurring payments.
- To sync your data across your devices and share family expenses with members you invite.
- To send local reminders for recurring payments (only if you turn on notifications).
- To show ads that keep the app free.
- To read and respond to your feedback.
4. Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. Your data is shared only:
- With your family group: expenses you add to a family are visible to its members.
- With service providers:

5. Ads and your choices
You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads in your Android settings (Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads, depending on your device).
6. Data storage and security
Data is stored on Google Firebase servers, which may be located outside your country. Data is encrypted in transit, and access is restricted by security rules so only you and members of your family group can read your data.
7. Data retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your expense records and activity history at any time from Settings → Clear All in the app.
To delete your account and all associated data, email contact@romaniacx.com from your registered email address with the subject "Family Spend account deletion". We will delete your account and data within 30 days. Expenses you added to a shared family group may remain visible to other members until removed.
8. Children's privacy
Family Spend is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent. Contact us to exercise these rights.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
