SoulStory — Privacy Policy

In short: Your journal lives on your phone. We have no servers and cannot read your entries. If you turn on Google Drive backup, your backup goes to your own Google Drive — never to us.

1. Who we are

SoulStory ("the app") is developed by RoManiacX, an independent developer. Contact: contact@romaniacx.com.

2. Information the app handles

Journal content: entries, moods, dates and photos you attach. These are stored only in a local database on your device.
Photos: the app accesses only the photos you choose to attach to an entry.
Google account (optional): if you enable Google Drive backup, you sign in with Google and the app receives your basic profile (email address) to identify your Drive account.

RoManiacX does not collect, receive or store any of this information. We have no analytics, no tracking and no ads in the app.

3. Backup and restore

Local backup

You can export a backup file to your device storage. You control where that file goes and who you share it with.

Google Drive backup (optional)

If you turn it on, the app uploads backup files to your Google Drive using Google's sign-in. The app only accesses files it creates itself, and cannot see your other Drive files. The backup is transferred directly between your device and Google; it never passes through our servers. You can disconnect at any time from the app's settings or from your Google account permissions.

SoulStory's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data from Google APIs is used only to provide the backup and restore feature, is not shared with third parties, and is not used for advertising.

4. Sharing

We do not sell or share your data. If you use the Share Card feature, the image is created on your device and shared only through the app you choose.

5. Security

Your data is protected by your device's own security. Anyone with access to your unlocked phone or to your backup files could read your journal, so keep both safe.

6. Data deletion

Deleting an entry removes it from the app. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data deletes all local entries. Backups stored in your Google Drive or on your device remain until you delete them yourself.

7. Children's privacy

SoulStory is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

8. Changes to this policy

Updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
